Book Review: The Surrogate

I have had this book for a long time, but I just got a chance to read it recently.
To be honest, it was very predictable. I could tell what was going to happen as I was reading, and it felt like the book should have ended sooner than it did. This may have been because it was published in 2004.
However, it is still a good example of what happens when we take matters into our own hands instead of relying on God to lead us.
For those of you who believe in Christ, this book reminds us that life is not always about us figuring everything out. Sometimes, we’ve got to lay what we want in His hands and let Him do what He needs to. His ways are always better than ours.
For those who don’t believe in God, this book is still a good reminder of thinking things through and doing proper research before acting first. We need to take the time to consider everything before following through with a plan. We also need to find the right people in our lives to trust.
While this novel is old, it is a decent read, and I recommend it for your shelf if you don’t want to use too much brain power to figure it all our.
