Happy National Poetry Month!

I hope those of you celebrating this month have been successful in your writing goals so far. I can't wait to see the work you put out through these prompts or your own exercises.

There's another great thing about April that I don't talk about often.

It's my birthday month!!

God knew exactly what He was doing when He made me. I mean, the timing couldn't have been more perfect.

Anyway, this month and my birthday have been a constant reminder of just how good God is. I've been using Spring Break this year to reflect while working on my personal goals, and I've accomplished a lot:

• Performing features in the 757

• Qualifying for Grand Slams (by pure accident)

• Building a social media presence

• Selling and creating books

God has had His hands on everything I've been doing since I was born, and I'm just along for the ride. Being obedient to Him and His calling in my life has been tough at times. It has been tiring sometimes. However, it has also been a joy.

The growth I have made since I started loving myself and opening up more has been phenomenal. Sometimes, I don't even recognize myself.

But I am happy. Oh so happy!

And I can't wait to see what God has in store for me this year.
