Book Review: Water Moon

I don’t think words can capture everything I felt while reading this book. I fell in love with the cover and fell for the story even more once I started reading it.

You could say that this book has the whimsical-ness of Harry Potter but mixed with Japanese culture. And once I figured that out, I was sealed to this book.

“Water Moon” by Samantha Sotto Yambao is an exploration of the choices we make and whatever regrets we have because of them. It is a deep dive into what life looks like when everything is predetermined for us with a fine tooth comb. It is a look into what “freedom” actually means.

I’m trying not to give too much away, but I feel like I could talk about this book for hours. If I had a “Book of the Year” category, this would be a heavy contender.

Just know that you need this book in your collection. You need to hear the tale spun within this cover because it applies to generations before and after us. I wouldn’t be surprised if this book becomes a classic.
